Abstract

In Urdu, Kaleemuddin Ahmed is known as a critic who earned fame for his research, critique, and other writings, rather than for his poetry or fiction. He has also been called a researcher and critic of high caliber. However, the reality is that there are very few books of his that are specifically on research topics. Kaleemuddin Ahmed and other critics do not consider criticism and research to be the same. According to them, criticism without research is meaningless, and research without critique is incomplete. Critique is a separate form of art that requires not only facts and accurate references but also a deep vision, aesthetic sense, and literary taste. It is not just about finding faults and highlighting contradictions. Kaleemuddin Ahmed has always supported well-reasoned critique rather than personal attacks. His critical essays, published in journals like Nigar, Nuqoosh, and Funoon, are also examples of this. Kaleemuddin Ahmed was affiliated with Aligarh University and later Cairo University. He began his academic and research journey under Professor Ibrahim, a renowned scholar. During this time, he wrote several research-based articles, essays, and works of critique. We have evaluated some of his best research works in this article.
