Abstract

The legendary assets of Ibrahim Jalees can be divided chronologically into two periods. The first phase is from 1938 to 1948. Period II includes stories written form 1947 to 1977. "Zarad Chehray" was published in 1945 in the first collection. This is the first fiction collection of Ibrahim Jalis published by Urdu Mahal Hyderabad. Progressive tendencies are clearly represented in Ibrahim Jalees' first period of fiction collections from 1938 to 1947. All the stories of Jalees are related to the everyday life of the people of India. These stories are true scenes of Indian life in terms of their themes. In which the imprints of politics, society, culture and civilization of this period are clearly visible. The main subject of Jalees's stories is the people. There is a lot of poverty, ignorance and diseases among the people of India. Even the basic amenities of life for the people are nominal.
